A native of Cedar Creek area, Lorena is familiar with the surrounding communities and its distinct needs. She is the first ever Distinguished Graduate of Mortuary Science and number one in her class at the San Antonio College of Mortuary Science.   Lorena’s passion is taking care of the deceased, guiding people through the process as compassionately as possible, and helping families celebrate the life of their loved ones. When asked what made you decide to take this job? Lorena responded “As someone with a lot of empathy, compassion and a “servant’s heart,” I found I had a desire to help people who are going through one of the worst times of their lives.”  On her downtime, Lorena is a foodie, likes to read fiction, do crosswords, play videogames and listen to live music.

A longtime resident of the area, Mistie comes with a diversified background and  knowledge of the community.  Mistie feels that for her, helping people through a difficult time with care and compasion, is how everyone should be treated, and that is her goal everyday for the families that come to Moorhead Funeral Home.   

When not at the Funeral Home, Misitie loves fishing, the beach and her family.
